The website's hosting and security providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps and security events. We use this information to operate the website, prevent abuse and keep it reliable.

If Google AdSense advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers, and receive the page URL and technical information from your browser. This may be used to deliver ads, measure their performance and prevent fraud. Ads may be personalised or non-personalised depending on your consent, location and settings.

If you choose Accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 loads and may set cookies beginning with _ga. It helps us understand pages viewed, general device and referral information, approximate location, and which Amazon buttons are clicked. We do not send Amazon order details to Google Analytics, and it does not tell us what you buy or how much you spend on Amazon. Google Analytics remains off unless you accept.

The Social feed uses TikTok's official creator-profile embed, and Journal entries may include a related TikTok video from Thomas Murphy's account. TikTok remains blocked until you choose to load the feed or video. If you load it, your browser connects directly to TikTok, which may receive your IP address, browser or device information, the referring page and other technical data, and may use cookies or similar identifiers under its own privacy policy. You can instead open Thomas's TikTok profile directly. We do not receive your TikTok login details.

Journal drafts, published entries and uploaded images are hosted as part of this website. The private publishing dashboard requires an authorised ChatGPT sign-in and receives the account email address only to check access. Readers do not need an account, and the Journal does not provide comments or visitor registration.

The website's privacy choices message lets you accept or decline Google Analytics. You can review or change that choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. If Google AdSense advertising is enabled, visitors in the UK, European Economic Area and Switzerland will also be shown a Google-certified consent message before advertising cookies or personalised advertising are used where consent is required. TikTok content has a separate load control and is not activated by accepting Google Analytics.

Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services in its partner sites notice. Your browser and Google account may also provide controls for cookies and ad personalisation.

If you request a launch notification, we keep your email address, signup date and consent version in a separate signed-copy waiting list. We use it to notify you when signed hardbacks open for ordering. This does not subscribe you to the general newsletter, place an order or reserve a copy. Only authorised administrators can access the list. You can withdraw your request by emailing social@timebythomasmurphy.com or using the removal link included in the notification. We delete the record on withdrawal or within 90 days after the launch notification, or when the offer is abandoned.

We store your email address, signup date and the version of your consent when you choose to join Thomas Murphy’s newsletter. We use this information to send book news, Journal updates and future-release announcements. Newsletter consent is separate from analytics consent. Subscriber details are stored securely and available only to authorised site administrators. We do not sell them. Each newsletter must include your unsubscribe link; you can also ask to be removed by emailing social@timebythomasmurphy.com. We remove your subscriber record when you unsubscribe, or when the newsletter is discontinued.

When email delivery is activated, we use Resend to deliver signup acknowledgements and emails you have requested. The service processes the recipient address and message content to send the email and manage delivery failures. Newsletter and signed-copy permissions remain separate in our website database. Each message provides a removal link for its own list, and supported email apps can also use one-click unsubscribe. Email delivery records help us avoid duplicate sends and investigate failures; they do not keep a separate copy of your subscriber address or removal token. To limit automated signup abuse, we use hourly hashed network identifiers and temporary attempt counts. Counts older than 24 hours are cleared during subsequent signup processing. If you contact us, we use the information you send to respond and keep any necessary correspondence. We do not sell contact information.

Links to Amazon, the publisher and other external services take you away from this website. Those services handle information under their own privacy and cookie policies.

Technical and correspondence information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including security, legal, accounting and dispute requirements.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict use of your personal information, object to certain uses, or withdraw consent.
